Nigeria Accountability Summit 2025

About NAS 2025

The 2025 Summit

The Nigeria Accountability Summit (NAS) 2025, themed “Strengthening Accountability for Inclusive Economic Growth,” will build on the progress and commitments from the previous edition. At NAS 2024, leaders from government, civil society, and development partners assessed progress on the Federal Government’s 8-Point Agenda and agreed on 17 actionable recommendations to strengthen institutions, transform the economy, and enhance public oversight.

Less than a year later, tracking shows these commitments are already driving reforms, including: the completion of the federal audit cycle by the House of Representatives for the first time since 1999; ₦32 billion disbursed through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund to over 8,000 PHCs; the World Bank-backed 90,000km fibre-optic project to expand digital access; and a $600 million RAAMP investment to rehabilitate 200,000 km of rural roads for agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods. These gains notwithstanding, challenges persist in the Nigerian economy, including high inflation, poor infrastructure (especially electricity), significant poverty and food insecurity, inadequate social safety nets, weak governance, corruption and insecurity, all hindering sustainable and inclusive development.

The 2025 edition will build on these gains by focusing on how accountability can consolidate reforms into inclusive growth that delivers real benefits for all Nigerians. The headline panel will spotlight two of the 8-Point priorities of the President: Economic Growth and Job Creation, and The Fight Against Corruption.

Overarching Goal

To enhance accountability measures for effective policy implementation and improved quality of life for Nigerians.
